Many of the bombs going off in Indian cities in the recent past have been discovered to have been left behind in bicycles. After the bomb attacks in New Delhi on September 13, 2008 the Delhi Police have been, as expected, keeping a watchful eye on everything in crowded places like markets.

Now read what they did in Greater Kailash Part 2 (the bombs had gone off in Part 1) market the morning following the attacks: The market runs around a park, with a road separating the park and the shops. Many people park their bikes along the fence of the park.

These Delhi Police constables come along for a check, see these bikes and ask them to be removed. And parked where? Along the shops? Implication: If any were carrying a bomb (God forbid) they would go off closer to where people are sitting and shopping. The park itself is usually almost empty. If these were left a distance away along the park, even if a few metres, the damage to life and property would be lesser. Cars parked along the park would act as a further shield. But no, the Delhi Police thinks otherwise.

What do you think?

Strange. Most of the security procedures seem to be moronic. Look at the malls. Sure there are metal detectors and guards peek under your car.. but what are they looking at? All the recent bombs have been small devices placed in bags. No mall ever checks the bags inside cars, or the spare tyre. etc.

Also which terrorist in his right mind would drive a car with a bomb attached to the bottom. Have you seen the size of the potholes? Even suicide squads wait till they reach their target…
