Geosyntec is growing in Southern California, and we are looking for an Experienced Environmental Data Management Professional for our Information Management Practice in the Santa Barbara or Ventura, CA offices. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designing, developing, and managing project-specific relational database applications using desktop (MS Access) and enterprise (MS SQL Server, EQuIS) database software;
- Providing leadership and initiative in migrating legacy database projects to enterprise platforms;
- Developing comprehensive workflows and metadata to automate compilation of data from multiple sources and serve data to maps, reports, and other tools;
- Compiling, verifying, analyzing, and reporting large and diverse datasets;
- Improving workflows and process efficiency using programming languages (e.g. R, Python, VBA);
- Interacting with internal and external providers to coordinate collection and transfer of data to project databases; and
- Interacting with internal and external clients to support database management and data visualization for environmental engineering, geoscience, stormwater, and sustainable groundwater management projects.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, environmental science, geology, engineering, or another relevant field. (required)
- Advanced degree in computer science, environmental science, geology, engineering, or another relevant field. (preferred)
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5 years (7+ preferred) of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Experience with EarthSoft EQuIS Enterprise, Microsoft Access, SQL Server, and Excel. (required)
- Working knowledge of database structure, query design, and maintenance. (required)
- Working knowledge of the life cycle of chemical analytical data management (e.g. laboratory EDDs, data validation, and reporting). (required)
- Exceptional attention to detail in quantitative work products, written communication, spelling, and grammar. (required)
- An outstanding track record for client management and technical leadership. (preferred)
- Project experience involving environmental regulatory compliance, historical research, and environmental assessment. (preferred)
- Experience working on demanding, sophisticated, and legally sensitive projects. (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set, and location.
- Minimum Salary: $75,765 / Maximum Salary: $114,940 (Santa Barbara, Ventura)
