Overview:
The Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability (“TCAD”) is the designated State Agency on Aging and is mandated to provide leadership relative to aging issues on behalf of older persons in the state. Our mission is to bring together and leverage programs, resources, and organizations to protect and ensure the quality of life and independence of older Tennesseans and adults with disabilities.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree including thirty-six (36) quarter hours in accounting. Prior Edison and State contracting experience preferred.
Description:
This position is responsible for professional accounting work of routine difficulty under general supervision of the Fiscal Director. The primary responsibility is to assist the finance team with general accounting processes and controls and related work, as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
· Process accounts payable invoices;
· Research and monitor vendor payments;
· Monitor grant program expenditures and provide activity reports to the management team;
· Maintain expenditure postings in an electronic database;
· Assist with entering contracts into Edison (as needed);
· Assist the Fiscal Director in development of contract budgets; and
· Assist the Finance Team in the preparation and tracking of legislative fiscal notes.
Core competencies:
· Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel;
· Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers; and
· Proficiency in Edison.
