What you'll be doing:

  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Perform monthly closing procedures and prepare managerial financial statements and reports.
  • Collaborate with billing invoices and accounting policies to external and internal clients.
  • Compile financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts including documenting business transactions.
  • Participate in the review of financial statements comparing actual expenditures against budgeted expenditures during the month-end closing process. Propose standard and adjusting journal entries where required.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Assist in financial audit preparation.
  • Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare revenue, expense, invoices and other accounting documents.
  • Collaborate with and provide information on billing invoices, and accounting policies to staff, vendors and internal clients.
  • Maintain financial databases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.
  • Prepare, review and maintain fixed assets sub-ledger including additions, construction in progress and disposals.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
  • Responsible for ad hoc analysis, account reconciliations and special projects as needed.
  • Additional duties and projects may be assigned at the discretion of the V.P. Finance & IT.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
  • Zero to five (0-5) years of accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll accounting preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-wide accounting Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Navision) or other large automated accounting system a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Intermediate to advance Microsoft Excel required.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have a positive attitude and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must have strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Working Environment/ Conditions:

  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain dependable transportation.
  • Must be able to travel to designated Goodwill of North Georgia locations as needed for management meetings.
