Job Description:

Comsat Architects is growing in the space industry in Northeast Ohio and providing engineering products and services to NASA Glenn Research Center. We are seeking an adaptable, team-oriented candidate with strong communications and critical thinking skills to join our team to support company growth. The candidate will work closely with the Director of Accounting & Finance to perform accounting duties. Responsibilities include:

• Perform basic accounting functions, including data entry
• Compile and prepare routine reports and summaries
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and other management-requested reports
• Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations in order to ensure compliance with all applicable business standards
• Assist with financial statements and Excel sheet support
• Maintain systems for filing, scanning, and electronic file system organization
• Maintain confidentiality of all financial information

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s Degree with experience in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or similar fields.
• High Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams)
• Experience with accounting software, QuickBooks preferred
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to collaborate with a team, as well as work independently
• Authorization to work in the United States as a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience working as an Accounting Associate or similar position in the Accounting field
• Basic understanding of state and federal tax laws and regulations
• Understanding of US Government accounting and contracting, including the FAR
