Why is the Accounts Payable Associate important to us?

Shapeways is looking for a smart, hard-working, dedicated associate to support the organization with accounts payable. You will be responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate operations. The position would report to the Assistant Controller.

This is a part time position based in our Livonia, MI facility.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the AP process and general ledger, ensuring completeness, accuracy, timeliness and data integrity
  • Review and input invoices from vendors into accounting system
  • Respond to AP related inquiries and work with vendors to resolve issues in a clear, concise, and professional manner
  • Implement strong controls and metrics around the AP function
  • Work with various departments providing information regarding AP to other staff (Customer Service, Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance)
  • Assist in the preparation of annual 1099 filings
  • Additional bookkeeping responsibilities
  • Assist finance team with monthly close process and ad-hoc projects

You might be a good fit if (you have/are):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or related field
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience/direct AP experience
  • Self-starter capable of finding solutions
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to summarize key accounting and operational issues to management
  • Proven organization skills with the ability to multitask, establish priorities, meet deadlines, and avoid surprises
  • Understanding of financial controls around Accounts Payable
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
