Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is currently searching for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our opening team!

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing all invoices received for payment. This includes verifying invoices, ensuring proper coding, accurately entering invoices into the resort’s accounting system, and processing invoices for payment on a routine schedule. This candidate will keep organized records of financial data using available tools. Complete period-end procedures and reports as specified. Follow-up and resolve all past due accounts and vendor invoices to ensure payment in full is received.

All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resorts policies, practices, and procedures.

Job Duties

  • Respond to external vendors and internal managers regarding all aspects of the accounts payable process, including processing invoices for payment, recording sales tax, and assisting with bank reconciliations
  • Generate payment to vendors on a routine schedule and match the check with backup
  • Review and balance accounts payable to the general ledger
  • Review aging reports on a weekly to bi-weekly basis
  • Ensure credit card transactions are reconciled with monthly ACH withdrawals
  • Prepare standard journal entries and adjusting journal entries as needed
  • Verify vendor information is correct in accounts payable system as needed
  • Process voids and replacement checks for previously issued payments
  • Review and ensure accurate processing of expense reports
  • Research payment discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate vendor file of W-9’s
  • Produce and distribute year-end IRS documents, (1099’s and annual reporting to the IRS).
  • Receiving, reviewing, and distributing departmental mail
  • Ordering and keeping stock of all office supplies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Cross train and cover other positions within the accounting department when needed
  • Other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Sunseeker Resorts performs criminal background checks on all candidates. Candidates will need to be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.   • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of accounts payable experience in hospitality industry
  • Experience with SAP accounting software and/or Fourth/Adaco procurement software preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to communicate with multiple levels of management
  • Must have advanced computer capabilities
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines
  • Must possess mature personal discretion and sound judgment
  • Strong leadership abilities, sound judgment, superior problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
