A self-starting, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk (A/R) might be interested in this job opening. This is a long-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Phoenix, Arizona area. As part of their duties, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. Key responsibilities

• Carry out an assortment of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks
• Communicate information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders
• Review status of delinquent accounts daily and initiate collection action by contacting customers
• Assist in setting up payment plans; contact clients to help resolve payment issues
• Test documents and codes
• Be an ambassador of the mission, values, and culture of the organization
• Balance bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a number of different ledgers
• Process payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
• Proven analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
• Comprehensive knowledge of B2B collections
• General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
• AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
• 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
• ERP system experience
