The Roland-Story Community School District is seeking outstanding,experienced applicants to serve as Activities Director. Roland-Story is one of Iowa’s premier high-performing school districts and enjoys a strong reputation for excellence in academics, fine arts, athletics, and service activities. Communities
Roland and Story City are located 15 minutes north of Ames and 45 minutes north of Des Moines, just off Interstate 35. Nestled in the Iowa heartland, Roland, and Story City are safe, attractive, and vibrant communities that embrace their small-town character. These communities contribute to a high quality of life by providing public libraries, museums, Story Theatre/Grand Opera House (the oldest continually operating theatre in Iowa), the Story City Carousel (Iowa’s only operating antique carousel), numerous churches, a golf course, swimming pools, and downtown shopping. Roland and Story City deeply value their historic character, schools, and churches. Several festivals and community events celebrate the proud heritage of their citizens.
District Enrollment
Student enrollment has remained stable during the last decade with modest growth for six of the past eight years. The district serves more than 1,100 students with more than 150 open-enrolled into Roland-Story from surrounding school districts. Building enrollments include: high school–345, middle school–315, and elementary–450.
