The English Language Institute (ELI) at UCM is accepting applications by qualified individuals to enter an adjunct ELI pool (part-time instructor) to teach face-to-face classes at the Warrensburg campus and/or Lee’s Summit Missouri Innovation Campus. It is possible, but not guaranteed, that an adjunct instructor(s) may teach 1-2 ESL classes in Reading, Writing, Communication, Grammar, Seminar in American Culture, Tutorial. Required for office Hours each week, 1.25 weekly per course.
Education & Formal Training Master's degree (Specify field(s) of study below) Other Education & Formal Training
Master’s Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language, Master’s in Education with ESL Emphasis, Master’s in English, Master’s in Communication, or related field.
TESL students may apply.
Computer Skills Word-Processing, Presentation Experience
TESL students may apply.
ESL teaching experience preferred
Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Attention to detail, Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal, Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines, Maintain confidentiality Other Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Understanding intercultural communication, knowledge of Intensive English Programs preferred.
Physical & Environmental Factors: Special Working Conditions: Irregular work hours, Professional appearance, Work in stressful conditions Ability to Keyboard No keyboarding test required.
