Administrative Assistant Job at Resthaven Funeral Home
Summary/Objective
Provides administrative and clerical support to a funeral home, cemetery, crematory or a combination of these facilities. Other general duties include greeting the general public, answering questions and providing general information on services offered in a polite manner with a goal to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Essential Functions and Competencies
· Performs day to day clerical duties as required which as assigned by funeral home manager including paperwork associated with funeral services, legal documents associated with funeral home, cemetery, and/or decedent
· Ordering supplies, filing and responding to inquiries
· Ensures that all required documentation is accurate and complies with state, federal and company rules and regulations with guidance of the funeral director
· Must be comfortable answering phone and dealing with the public in what may be extremely stressful situations
· Must be detail oriented and a self-starter
· Must be technology savvy and able to learn new computer programs
· Processes account payable transactions and assists with payroll
· Assists other departments as needed
· Acts as backup to Receptionist

- Monitors and documents departmental policies and procedures to ensure 100% compliance.
- Works productively with minimal supervision; achieves work objectives in a timely manner
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Maintains composure in challenging situations
- Strong organization skills with ability to manage large workload
Required Education and Experience
- 2+ years of college OR 2 years of relevant professional experience
- 1+ year(s) of experience working as an administrative assistant or support staff in an office or other professional environment
