The Southwest Folklife Alliance (SFA) is an affiliate non-profit organization of the University of Arizona, housed within the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. This position develops and administers the Southwest Folklife Alliance day to day business which is outreach driven and community based. The position works with the entire SFA staff and reports to the SFA Operations Manager and Executive Director of the Southwest Folklife Alliance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Facilitates results through management and support of business practices and policies in order to effectively manage Southwest Folklife Alliance Inc. (a non-profit affiliate of the University of Arizona) resources and programs. Organizational administration includes activities such as finance, human resources, information technology, facilities, community engagement programs, and/or organizational services.
  • Provides general administrative functions and assistance, which may include communicating with internal and external stakeholders, preparing documents and reports, compiling records, scheduling meetings, organizing and maintaining information, coordinating calendars, composing correspondence and other documents, analyzing data. Reports to SFA Operations Manager and Executive Director.
  • Coordinates complex processes and initiatives that require significant judgement such as grant proposals and reports, annual audits, bookkeeping, support for community engagement or complicated program scheduling.
  • Composes and edits complex internal and external correspondence and documents such as contracts, e-mails, and quarterly reports.
  • Creates and oversees complex record-keeping systems and databases.
  • Prioritizes workload, meetings, and appointments to meet work unit operations. Assists in the coordination and implementation of multiple projects.
  • Analyzes complex information. Laying out information in reports and documents in ways that enhance readability. Monitor, review, and approve standard expenditures to ensure the activities of the office are conducted within established budgets.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.
