Job Description
This position is an integral part of a professional team that provides administrative support to the Tax Assessors' Office, supporting the commercial, residential, and personal property digests. An Administrative Support Associate II is required to provide superior quality customer service to taxpayers. The qualified candidate must be capable of responding to questions and requests for information via phone, email, and in person. In addition, the qualified incumbent must be able to learn tax assessment policies and processes and be able to convey detailed information to customers and team members in an effective manner.

Essential Duties
  • Greeting and assisting customers in person, through phone and email
  • Answering and directing phone calls in call center
  • Filing, copying, scanning, and data entry
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job entails fiduciary responsibility and requires a credit check.
  • This job is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule after an initial probationary period and individual approval.
Grade
The grade for this position is B21(1).

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D.,
  • Two years of administrative support or related office experience;
  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Department of Financial Services
The Department of Financial Services oversees the financial operations of Gwinnett County in compliance with state and federal laws, ensuring fiscal responsibility and superior bond ratings. Department functions include, but are not limited to: investment management, vendor and employee payment, debt issuance and monitoring management, self-insurance and liability programs management, procurement and contracts operations management, tax assessor administration, and strategic program design and deployment. The Tax Assessor's Office utilizes industry best practices to see that each property in the county is appraised fairly and equitably by providing each Gwinnett County citizen the highest quality customer service in a friendly and efficient manner.

The County Administrator and County Attorney are appointed by the Board of Commissioners and serve at its pleasure. To implement the Board's policy directives, the County Administrator uses a management team consisting of members of his immediate staff and 14 department directors. The 14 departments that make up the executive side are Police Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Corrections, Communications, Support Services, Financial Services, Community Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Law, Planning and Development, Water Resources, Child Advocacy & Juvenile Services, and Transportation. Each department is run by a director who is charged with managing operations in a manner which stresses the County’s values.

In addition to the executive side of County government, certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law. In Gwinnett, they include the Sheriff, Tax Commissioner, District Attorney, Solicitor, Probate Court Judge, and Chief Magistrate.
