The University of Texas Permian Basin's Admissions Department welcomes applications for the position of Admissions Counselor

Salary Range
$40,000.00 depending on qualifications

Essential Functions
To provide advanced professional knowledge, advice and counseling skills regarding the institutional student admission and recruitment process. Responsible to identify, recruit, admit, and enroll academically qualified traditional or non-traditional students in accordance with the philosophy of the University.
1.Identifies, recruits, and enrolls prospective students in a designated market; manages a recruitment territory; develops recruitment strategies; plans and arranges all phases of regional and local travel; conducts office-based contact by mail and phone with students, and parents if applicable.
2.Responsible for specific recruiting territories and/or special populations or campaigns for prospective students; is responsible for maintaining contact with a variety of constituencies in those areas, such as alumni, prospective students and their parents and school counselors.
3.Processes Admissions applications, including the calculation of GPA, evaluation and articulation of transcripts and makes recommendations and/or decisions on applications for admission in conjunction with other counselors and the Assistant Director of Freshman Admissions and Director of Admissions.
4.Organizes and attends Admissions events, supports and attends University special events and programs, both on and off campus to identify, attract and ultimately recruit students for the University.

Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree
2. Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in college admissions or related field preferred.
3. Must possess excellent presentation, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
4. Able to travel locally and nationally to fulfill the duties of this position.
5. Possess a valid unencumbered driver’s license
.

1. Fluent (verbal and in writing) in both English and Spanish
