Saint Simons By-The-Sea Hospital is seeking an Admissions Director, who supports the purpose and procedure of the entire admission process. Creates and maintains department procedures in the following areas: daily census records, inquiry calls, assessments and admissions, and ensures that the level of treatment and clinical services is appropriate to all patient needs. Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with referral sources.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
  • Ensures accurate information of daily census and potential admission information
  • Monitors and evaluates intake/admission information and evaluates insurance verification information
  • Acts as administrative resource to provide in-depth training on how to handle inquiry calls and other concerns around the admission process to milieu transition for each patient.
  • Obtains and disseminates additional clinical information related to potential patient to appropriate staff for discussion of concerns and admission approval.
  • Completes admission assessment in a timely manner and makes appropriate referral for clients that are not clinically appropriate for admission to Saint Simons By-The-Sea.
  • Acts as administrative resource to provide in-depth training on how to handle inquiry calls and other concerns around the admission process to milieu transition for each patient.
  • Attends administrative meetings to present critical information around census, benefit time lines, and reviews potential patients and program as it pertains to the admission process.
  • Monitors admissions’ goal according to budget projection
  • In collaboration with the Director of Human Resources, interviews and hires clinical staff, including Therapists and Nurses.
  • Ensures all clinical staff receives department orientation and other appropriate training.
  • Provides a formal written performance evaluation of all clinical staff according to policy.
  • Functions as the Administrator-on-call as needed and takes calls for special facility needs

Qualifications:
Requirements:
  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in a clinical area, such as counseling or social work OR a Georgia RN license from an accredited school.
  • Have at least five years’ experience in the mental health field.
  • Clinical experience in psychiatric setting, situational evaluation, and crisis intervention experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, lead, manage and drive business results through others.
  • Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data & information while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
