Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for an experienced APP in Longmont. This is a 30 hours/week position.

This is a mid-level exempt position. Responsible for the screening, enrollment, and maintenance of patients on clinical trials. Duties include assuring protocol compliance for all patients on trial, participation in consent process, ongoing assessments for changes in condition and adverse events, accurate and timely documentation/data entry, responsible for education and training of other staff and patients, serves a liaison between departments to assure proper conduct of trials. Ensures site research quality by practicing in compliance with US Oncology Research, Inc. (USOR) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and applicable federal, state, and local regulations through OSHA, CDC and HIPPA. Supports and adheres to US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics Business Standards.

Salary Range: $80,000-$95,000 (based on 30 hours/week)

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
  • Performs procedures and /mentors trains other providers
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.

  • Consistently incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.

  • In-depth knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.

  • Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.

  • Often provides case management for patients and their families.

  • Often serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.

  • Provides palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.

  • As subject matter expert, promotes/provides staff education

  • Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after-hours calls

  • Serves as subject matter expert to the community, providing education and resources as needed

  • Likely to supervise the activities of clinical nursing and support staff.

  • May serve in practice or network-wide APP leadership role

  • May precept APP students

  • Mentors new advanced practice providers.

  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner

Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. This position typically requires a minimum of 6 years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, preferably in the chosen specialty. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. AOCNP preferred. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

OR

Physician Assistant

Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification. This position typically requires a minimum of 6 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
