Summary
Responsible for leading the E. & J. Gallo Winery on premise wine advocacy efforts through coordination of cross-functional partners and agencies to include: Activation Agency – Ambassadors; Commerce – Development of tactical strategies and dynamic activation elements; Brand – Consult and drive channel/sub-channel strategies on priority SKU’s/Brands; and Activation Agency(s) – Demo’s and Promotions as well as Ambassadors. Lead on premise efforts against goal of increasing brand awareness, visibility and loyalty among gatekeepers, front of house staff and consumers to drive trial and demand. Additionally monitors, reports, and makes recommendations based upon market trends, consumer awareness and brand loyalty for applicable brands to senior leadership.

- Serves as the BU Expert against the following areas:
- Driving advocacy with both the trade and consumers.
- Maintains a consistent understanding and mastery of business drivers and growth opportunities for assigned brand(s) and develop strategies to address in an omni-channel environment through the lens of the On-Premise.
- Analyze business on a monthly basis to uncover and activate against business drivers for the OnPremise Channel.
- Works with brand teams to develop strategies to address business drivers and growth opportunities.
- Observes and analyzes new trends and competitive activities to seek out innovative ways to build marketing effectiveness and efficiency.
- Participates in identifying optimal account/sub-channel target(s) based on a brand’s consumer target and positioning.
- Recommends new trends and competitive activities to seek out innovative ways to build channel effectiveness and efficiency.
- Leads team to drive consultation with brand teams on projects/plans relevant for On-Premise.
- Participates in the Scrum/Agile process.
- Oversees the work of outside agencies.
- Leads the I2M process for the Brand team in coordination with the scrum teams.
- Leads development of areas within the IMP for OP Customer Brand Portfolio
- Delivers annual Business Review for assigned brand(s).
- Develops Brand Plans.
- Contributes to develop OGSM brand level strategies/platforms.
- Writes activation briefs.
- Tracks and updates A&P budget for assigned brand(s).
- Oversees and guides relationship with Brand Advocacy Agencies (i.e. TEAM Enterprise), ensuring appropriate level of specialized brand knowledge.
- Leads a team of strategically located Brand Ambassadors.
- Ensures team is equipped with the appropriate tools and skill necessary to build brand loyalists through trade outreach and engagement.
- Monitors and provides monthly KPI reports and consolidates competitive intel across the Ambassadors for inclusion in status updates and recaps.
- Shares status updates and productivity with senior leadership and brand teams.
- Drives the team to deliver against the 4 Advocacy Pillars of Availability, Visibility, Advocacy and Promotion.
- Engages with the Sales Organization against the 4 Advocacy Pillars.
- Establishes key strategic local partnerships that can resonate with brand consumer engagement platforms.
- Works closely with the internal Gallo partners within the sales organization to ensure consistent communication, alignment, appropriate training and education. •
- Collects and analyzes feedback regarding trends the sales organization is observing in the market.
- Recommends plans and strategies based on Sales’ data trends .
- Organizes, attends, and represents Gallo’s portfolio of brands at promotional events and key customer/trade events.
- Supports the career development and training plans for direct reports. Serves as an influential leader and coach within business unit.
- Shares best practices with direct reports and other colleagues across the organization.
- Travels to different regions for market visits.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree plus 7 years of Wine, Luxury Brand Sales, Hospitality, Culinary, Server/Bartender, Supplier/Wholesaler, Agency Ambassador or Tasting Room experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of Gallo marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 11 years of Wine, Luxury Brand Sales, Hospitality, Culinary, Server/Bartender, Supplier/Wholesaler, Agency Ambassador or Tasting Room experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Supervisory/managerial experience.
- Experience with developing and implementing a brand marketing programming and education.
- Experience with owned social media and networks.
- Experience with Event or Hospitality Management.
- Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
- Required to travel up to 50% of the time; required to travel via airplane or automobile.
- Required to lift and move product weighing up to 45 lbs.
- Required to employ an alternative work schedule to include weekends and evenings.
- Required to be 21 years of age or older.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree plus 9 years of Wine, Luxury Brand Sales, Hospitality, Culinary, Server/Bartender, Supplier/Wholesaler, Agency Ambassador or Tasting Room experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 13 years of Wine, Luxury Brand Sales, Hospitality, Culinary, Server/Bartender, Supplier/Wholesaler, Agency Ambassador or Tasting Room experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. Consumer Brand Experience, preferably focused on wine.
- Experience working with Distributors.
- Experience putting together beverage programs or wine lists.
- Strong knowledge of wine industry.
- Prior retail or on-premise wine sales experience.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Skilled storyteller.
- Strong problem solving and motivational skills.
- Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

- Skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience training and developing junior level brand marketers in executing brand and organizational objectives.
- Experience managing business operations and leveraging basic finance and accounting principles.
- Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and depth perception.

Compensation
- Hiring Salary Range: $114,750 - $191,300/Year.
- Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
