The Airport Credentialing Agent Lead, you will review applications for and issue airport employee security identification (ID) badges, complete background vetting, assign access rights, and verify completion of training requirements as part of the Airport Security credentialing program, and perform related functions. The work contributes to the Airports Authority's overall security program.

Airport Credentialing Agent Lead

Serves in the Airport Operations Department at either Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) or Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

Leads Airport Credentialing Agents in the production and issuance of airport employee identification (ID) badges. Performs background vetting, assigns access rights, and verifies completion of training requirements for driver safety and security training. Files and maintains applications and ID records of sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Performs related functions.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads, trains, assists, and advises Airport Credentialing Agents on collecting and transmitting applicants’ biometric data and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) for issuance of ID badges.
Instructs the Airport Credentialing Agents in the administration of employee security awareness and airfield driver training and examinations.
Communicates information to Airport Credentialing Agents about special projects and daily work and may review work on behalf of the Manager.
Responds to basic requests for information concerning security requirements, background investigations, training requirements, and procedures to obtain ID badges.
Processes applications for ID badges, reviewing for completeness, inspecting identification and immigration (when applicable) documents, taking fingerprints, and securely transmitting biometric data and Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
Administers Security Identification Display Area (SIDA), secure area, and driver training and testing to applicants. Certifies successful completion of training.
May participate in the hiring process of Airport Credentialing Agent candidates.
Performs applicant adjudications, including reviewing applicant court documents.
Processes Criminal History Records Check (CHRC), Security Threat Assessments (STA), and US Customs Seals to include review of applicant’s documents when needed to clarify information related to the individual’s background processing.
Interfaces with appropriate Federal and Airport authorities when there are questions involving an applicant’s arrest record, immigration status, or authenticity of documents.
Assists with audits of active IDs and in recovery of lost and unrecovered IDs.
[DCA Only] Processes Taxicab Permits for STA.
May act as the Airport Security Credentialing Manager in their absence.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of progressively responsible experience in security-focused administrative and clerical work.
Knowledge of and ability to apply security requirements and regulations, specifically related to processing requests for ID badges and controlled-access keys.
Knowledge of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprinting standards and skill in identifying fraudulent or tampered identity documents.
Knowledge of and ability to operate access control systems, key control systems, and the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS).
Ability to speak and write effectively.
Ability to perform basic analyses of data and information.
Skill in using a computer and modern office suite software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience issuing identification and/or access control media for facility access.
Experience in leading projects or work groups (such as the ability to assign/review immediate tasks to group members).
Experience in processing Criminal History Records Check (CHRC), Security Threat Assessments (STA), and US Customs Seals at an airport regulated under 49 CFR 1542.
Certification as an Airport Certified Employee (ACE) in Airport Security by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
EDUCATION
A high school diploma or a Certificate of General Educational Development (GED).

A background security investigation will be required for all new hires.
