The Homeless and Housing Coalition of Kentucky (HHCK) is a statewide coalition of partners and advocates working to solve homelessness and create opportunities for low-income Kentuckians to live in affordable homes. To that end, we are a nonprofit advocacy organization with direct and intermediate service programs, including AmeriCorps State/National Service, Continuum of Care, Emergency Rental Assistance, HOME Tenant Based Rental Assistance, and VISTA.

HHCK has administered a statewide AmeriCorps State/National Service program since 1994 and an AmeriCorps VISTA program since 2016. These are federally funded programs through AmeriCorps. The AmeriCorps Program Member Coordinator supports national service members in both programs.
Duties
- Provide input as needed on the Homes for All program design to address the overall organizational goal of solving homelessness and fulfilling the promise of affordable housing for Kentuckians. This includes contributing to the federal competitive grant application efforts, modifying partner site and member recruitment and management to meet the housing needs of communities and partners, understanding performance measure data, and maintaining compliance with federal AmeriCorps requirements.
- Provide ongoing member support that ensures members complete program requirements and implements the Member Development Plan in accordance with federal AmeriCorps regulations and guidance.
- Help implement the program evaluation strategy in accordance with the three-year grant cycle, federal AmeriCorps requirements, and the organization’s needs.
- Contribute to partner site recruitment strategy to retain existing partnerships and add new partner sites.
- Facilitate program communication through monthly conference calls, contributing to Homes for All social media, and regular emails to members and site supervisors.
- Coordinate site visits on an at least annual basis with the Program Director, member, site supervisor at the service site to review site compliance and agreements, provide technical assistance, and review member performance with site supervisor.
- Create and maintain member files with required documentation.
- Report member progress and potential issues to the Program Director.
- Coordinate logistics of robust pre-service orientation, program year-end, and other program events, such as the Spring Service Project.
- Maintain professional relationships through meaningful participation in program staff meetings, including but not limited to Serve Kentucky and the AmeriCorps VISTA Midwest Regional Office.
- Other duties as assigned by the AmeriCorps Program Director.
Requirements
- An associate’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional program experience.
- Willingness to travel as needed across the state up to 25% of time worked.
- Ability to use and manage technology in a hybrid work environment (Google Suite, Zoom, etc.).
- Reliable vehicle with valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Proof of current COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster as indicated by current public health guidance.
Preferences
- Prior service as AmeriCorps member or site supervisor.
- Bachelor’s level or advanced degree in human service or policy related field.
- Prior experience working in federally-funded housing programs.
Hours
This is a full-time, exempt position at 37.5 hours per week. Hours generally are worked Monday-Friday during normal business hours with the potential for irregular hours in the summer during program year transition.

- Vacation time accrued monthly as follows: Full time employees are eligible for ten (10) paid vacation days for each twelve (12) month working period. Following the completion of one (1) full year of service one (1) day of vacation time is added to the employee benefits per year until a maximum of twenty (20) vacation days is reached.
- Sick time accrued annually upon hire and thereafter on anniversary date: Full‐time employees are granted nine (9) days of medical leave from work with pay when incapacitated by personal sickness or injury, behavioral health needs, to receive a medical examination or treatment, or for illness in the immediate family.
- Flex scheduling: employees have the option to work 9 days in 2 weeks with alternating biweekly flex days of Friday or Monday.
- Insurances – health, dental, vision, group life, all paid at 100% of monthly premium. Partner/dependent coverage available at 50/50% employer/employee contribution.
- Retirement – SIMPLE IRA participation and maximum employer match.
