Apartment Maintenance Technician Job at Wheeling Housing Authority

Looking to hire a well-rounded, multi-skilled maintenance person to perform diverse duties in connection with the general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, equipment and apartments. Operates under the direction of a maintenance supervisor and site manager to respond to work orders, renovate apartments and maintain a site. Must be able to work independently, efficiently and complete work accurately/timely. Work will include plumbing (sewer stoppage/unclog, leaks, toilet repair/replace, etc.), electrical, heating, carpentry (hanging doors, subfloor repair, flooring install, etc.), painting, mechanical equipment upkeep, grounds upkeep, turning apartments, cleaning, and any other duties related to maintaining the building/site. An on call rotation (one week at a time) is required from 4:30pm to 8am during the week and 24 hours on the weekend. Must be familiar with computer work order systems and entering data including supplies used and time spent. Must be dependable, career-minded, exhibit excellent customer relations and complete work as assigned. Background check, physical and drug screen required. Must have valid driver's license.
