Applications Engineering Manager - US Job at Alicat Scientific
Scientific innovation requires highly versatile and custom solutions. For flow and pressure solutions, Alicat Scientific has been manufacturing and servicing high quality instrumentation since 1991. Each Alicat instrument is configured by a member of the applications engineering team before it is custom built to order.
Alicat’s applications engineers ensure that each customer receives a product customized to their unique needs. Working with scientists and engineers all over the world, we take part in rocket guidance systems, creating fuel from biomass, saving lives with oxygen delivery systems, growing diamonds, and much more.
As our business and teams grow, we are looking for an applications engineering manager in the US to manage a team of 10. This manager will join a team of global managers ensuring that our technical support of customers remains outstanding. This position will work closely with leadership in sales, marketing, production, and engineering to ensure a great experience for our customers and staff.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-today operations of the applications engineering department
- Recruit personnel
- Assess staff performance and provide coaching and guidance
- Develop, review, and improve applications engineering procedures and policies
- Assist in technical training of applications engineers, as well as marketing and sales personnel
- Continually learn about (and keep up with) new Alicat products and services to ensure our technical knowledge is thorough and correct
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field
- Proven experience as a team manager
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, coaching, and interpersonal skills
- This job will require a 6-month training period to fully familiarize the manager in all aspects of applications engineering
