The APQP engineer will support launch activities and advanced product quality planning activities including PPAP preparation, PFMEA’s, Process Flows, and Control Plans. Daily responsibilities will be towards implementing and preparing tools and programs that will be handed off to production in the goal of good products produced for shipment and to ensure the quality standards are met and continually improved on for the customer.

Essential Functions

  • Work with customer on GD and T input to drawings and part design.
  • Development of gages with customer interactions on drawing development and DFMEA.
  • Completion of IMDS reports for new launched products.
  • Create, lead, and aid in investigation of Corrective Action Reports (8d’s)
  • Creation of Process Flows using manufacturing, and program teams experience and knowledge.
  • Creation of control plans
  • Creation of PFMEA’s, updating and periodic review of RPN ratings and actions.
  • Assist in PPAP documentation, with close communication with customer.
  • Customer communication, specifically complaints or other concerns, with visits to customer locations when needed.
  • Perform capability studies.
  • Perform Gage R and R Studies
  • Support and evaluate daily Inspections of jobs per control plan
  • Support and evaluate daily fixture checks per control plan
  • Input data for daily fixture checks per control plan, and report out results
  • Support and evaluate daily gage checks per control plan
  • Conduct initial analysis of data points in SPC
  • Verify processes running within documented process parameters
  • Verify process using correct material and document lot traceability
  • Support defective Product Containment, and Re-inspect rework stock verifying conformance
  • Verify operator conformance to work instructions, provide improved training as needed
  • Work with customer to set up master/boundary samples, insure daily maintenance of master samples
  • Support and evaluate color inspections per instruction
  • Maintain work area in a clean and organized fashion
  • Maintains adherence to company policies, safety/ergonomic standards, and good housekeeping practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,387.05 - $87,291.98 per year
