MEDICAL PLANNER (CM/PM) SENIOR ARCHITECT/ENGINEER - MAJOR HEALTHCARE GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS
Seeking motivated and (CM/PM) Medical Planners with experience with leading teams to join our team on a Long Beach VA Healthcare System Strategic Capital Implementation Planning Program. Candidates will report to a Program Manager as well as collaborate and assist VA client staff to provide data, generate reports as a representatives for the client on major healthcare construction project.
Responsibilities:
Medical Planners will support a team of professionals and act as the Owner's advisor on planning, analyzing and phasing a major campus upgrade program. Medical Planners will be required to learn, teach, and implement industry and internal company best practices related to project delivery, budget, schedule, quality and operations in the healthcare environment. Planners will require experience leading and mentoring a team of professionals and experience as an advisor/liaison with the client (user groups, design team, contractors, and facility engineering representatives). The CM services will be used to support traditional Design-Bid-Build and Design/Build contracts. A summary of the major tasks is below.
Pre-Design/Design Phase
i. Planning (various departments, Imaging, OR, ER, materials, environmental services, dental, womens, etc.)
Ii. Scheduling
iii. Value Engineering
iv. Market Analysis
v. Constructability and Phasing Review
Qualifications:
- Licensing: none required (preferred) PE, AIA, or RA (any state)
- Education: Bachelor of Architecture/Engineering from an accredited school of higher education.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in design and/or construction with a focus on medical facilities.
- Knowledge: Able to quickly understand and master
- Requirements of local state and federal jurisdictions in relation to the Project.
- Construction Contract Documents including Front End and Technical Specifications and Drawings to readily understand and assess the requirements.
- Working knowledge of engineering services, building codes, budgeting, and scheduling to lead to the project’s success.
- Leadership: Must possess the skillset and competency to supervise and manage personnel of diverse skillsets
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Federal projects, and with healthcare projects preference will be given to VA experience.
- CCM, PMP, LEED AP and other relevant certifications
