What We Need:
Jordahl Custom Homes (JCH) is seeking a qualified and skilled Assistant Controller who can exceed not only in this position, but in our culture adhering to and really thriving with our core values!
The Assistant Controller will be an experienced, detail- oriented and motivated individual who can assist with the day-to-day operations within the Accounting Department and perform a variety of accounting and finance operations. This position primary responsibilities are to provide support to the Controller in the following areas.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in oversee day-to-day operations within the Accounting Department; including, but not limited to:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Software Administration
- Perform daily bank reconciliations for multiple entities
- Cash flow Management
- Communicate with other departments within the company as necessary
- Cut checks to vendors and tenants; as needed
- Meet monthly and quarterly bank reporting requirements
- Create, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Create and enter invoices into our System
- Prepare monthly debt service payments
- Define, benchmark and implement operational best practices
- Evaluation monthly security deposit accounting for accuracy; refund or invoice accordingly
- Maintain detailed analysis and prepare reports on various general ledger accounts (including AJEs)
- Organize monthly and quarterly financial statements
- Create monthly invoices
- Advise on all accounting and finance related questions
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department
- Prepare any other report(s) needed by owner
- Any other tasks assigned by management or owner
- Reconcile monthly credit card
- Track payments from collection company
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum 5+ years of previous accounting experience
- Experience with QuickBooks and Yardi is required
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Strong aptitude for learning
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines
Schedule:
Monday-Friday; 8AM – 5PM; or until job is complete
Salary:
$65,000 – $70,000; DOE
