Position Description
Performs varied and complex administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and/or program. Requires independent judgment and application of established policies and procedures. Works under general supervision with evaluation based on overall results obtained.

Major/Essential Functions
Advising and Supervising
  • Provide support, direction, and advice to fraternity and sorority council and chapter leadership by assisting in developing and implementing annual goals and objectives.
  • Provide regular reporting on council and chapter initiatives and operations to colleagues, university administration, advisors, headquarters staff, campus partners, and any other applicable stakeholders.
  • Strategically assess council programs and operations to improve impact and intentional learning outcomes.
  • Develop long-term goals, plans, and priorities for the assigned organizations in order to advocate for necessary adjustments, needs, inequities, and opportunities. (I.E., growth, enhancement plans, development opportunities, recognition, etc.)
  • Provide council officer training and transition support, that provides continuity and best practices related to each position.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, develop, and supervise graduate and/or student assistant staff supporting the functions of Fraternity & Sorority Life.
Programming and Education
  • Create and facilitate opportunities for education and training, including program development, planning, and implementation in alignment with the Fraternity & Sorority Life values and mission for organizations, officers, and the Fraternity/Sorority community.
  • Assess community programs and student learning outcomes to improve student impact and learning.
  • Create and sustain partnerships to assist in the development of a positive Fraternity & Sorority Life community and to support the University's strategic plan.
Administrative
  • Assist with the positive promotion of the Fraternity & Sorority Life community to prospective and current students, campus partners, university administration, and other applicable stakeholders.
  • Respond to crisis and conduct concerns impacting the Fraternity & Sorority Life community in coordination with the applicable campus partners, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain fiscal oversight of program(s) and council(s) budgets and utilize appropriate procurement and contracting practices.
  • Prepare budget requests, staff reports, and maintain documentation for end-of-year and annual reports
  • Participate on university committees as assigned, developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with campus partners and various stakeholders.
  • Participate as an active member of the Student Life professional staff; attending departmental meetings, collaborating with other staff members, and assisting in-office and department-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Fraternity & Sorority Life organizations, student organizations, and the needs of collegiate students.
  • Demonstrated ability in advisement and development of students and student organizations
  • Ability to perform administrative duties, and large-specialized project and program management independently, and collaboratively. This includes the ability to utilize independent judgment, and apply established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse groups of faculty, staff, students, community members, and Fraternity & Sorority stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide supervision and direction to clerical, paraprofessional, or professional staff members.
  • A team player and student/community-focused mindset.
  • A demonstrated commitment to providing consistent follow-through and the ability to meet deadlines
  • A willingness to develop personally and professionally, and gain knowledge in order to best serve the students

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Three years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A masters degree in higher education or a related field is preferred or in progress.
  • Knowledge of student development theory and application.
  • Ability to handle administrative details independently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and advocate for diverse groups
  • Knowledge of the foundational elements of prevention, university conduct, and Title IX issues
  • Experience working with fraternity/sorority councils, chapter officers and advisors.
  • Experience advising, supporting, and developing Fraternity & Sorority Life organizations.
  • The ability to prioritize and adapt to various university and community needs.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize programs and projects of various sizes and scopes.
  • Experience with or knowledge of Maxient software.
  • Experience with student programs, education, and trainings for student organization leaders implementation
  • Proven organizational skills, time management, presentation skills, problem-solving abilities, public relations, and crisis management skills.
  • Knowledge of student development theory and application.
  • Knowledge and understanding of employee supervision.
