Position Purpose:
Under direction of the Director of Athletic Communication, this position is responsible for gathering and disseminating the university’s sports information through various means of communication as well as overseeing video and online production. This position works periodically and collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure best practices for web-casting and integrated marketing strategies are utilized.

Media Relations, Compliance, Reporting:
- Responsible for knowing current NAIA, Conference, and all other sport organization’s by-laws, rules, regulations, and deadlines that govern Bulldog Athletic Teams.
- Responsible for collecting, compiling, and making sure all statistical information for all sports is reported to regional and national representatives of the NAIA, Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), opposing schools, media outlets, etc.
- Maintain season and career statistics for the athletic teams.
- Builds positive working relationships with media, anticipating and responding to their information requests.
- Coordinates the immediate reporting of scores and/or results via the web, social media, and other communication technology readily available.
- Schedule, coordinate, and direct media interviews and major press conferences/releases student-athletes, coaches, and athletic administrators regarding Bulldog Athletics.
- Work with Associate Athletic Director, Director of Marketing & Communications, and other Senior Staff members on crisis-management strategies.
Committees, Directorship, Leadership, Mission, Meetings:
- Understand and agree to abide by the mission of the Concordia University, Nebraska and the Bulldog Athletic Department
- Respond to administrative correspondence in the requested timeframe and attend all staff meetings (Game/Event Management, Athletic Dept., etc.)
- Represent Concordia University, Nebraska Athletic by participating with assigned Athletic Department-related committees; such as the Bulldog Golf Classic, Athletic Hall of Fame, CIT Tournaments, the Cattle Classic, and other athletic special event activities. Specifically, serves as the Secretary on the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee that requires additional research, data compilation, and archiving, etc.)
Hiring, Supervising, Training, Performance Evaluation:
- Hire, train, and supervise assistant(s), graduate assistant(s), and or student worker(s) who support the sports information office for compiling data, reporting, writing, and webcasting.
- Assigns and oversees statistical crews, webcast producers, webcast videographers, webcast color analysts, and play-by-play announcers which are assigned to each respective athletic event.
- Trains other statistical crew members such as coaches, graduate assistants, student workers, volunteers, etc., so if needed they can work independently due to an absence, illness, vacation, etc.
Writing, Statistical Compilation, Data Collection, Historical:
- Serve as a writer for the Bulldog Athletic Department.
- Generate and ensure all website and/or print sports promotional publications utilize integrated marketing objectives developed by the CUNE Marketing Department.
- Creates and distributes all sports publicity related to pre-game/event articles and media notes, game recaps, and other feature articles about athletic teams and/or student-athletes.
- Write feature articles on student-athletes, coaches, and teams for University use.
- Produce and distribute team rosters, season previews, game programs, tournament media guides, and visiting team travel guides, etc.
Athletic Website, Social Medial, Webcasting, Video Board Displays:
Other Duties as assigned.
- Coordinates the updates for the Athletic website and related internet sites with sports schedules, statistics, bios, and/or related athletic information.
- Provide statistics and student-athlete photographs (head & shoulder shots) for bios displayed on the website and video board.
- Coordinate and support athletics webcast productions including; scheduling and training student workers while working with game/event managers to prevent and address any related issues during events.
- Publicizes and promote athletic facilities, sports camps, and athletic events through social media to spread the Bulldog brand.
- Creates timely multimedia pieces for the website and social media; highlight videos for YouTube and the video display screens.
- Generates posts via social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) that inform and engage the Bulldog Nation.

Serve as a messenger and teach of the Christian faith and lead students to grow in the knowledge and love of Christ.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience directly related to the essential functions.
Certifications:
- Valid Driver's License
Specialized Knowledge:
- Photography, videography, and webstream knowledge.
- Ability to learn and utilize other software applications as necessary.
Proficiencies:
- Proficiency in the use of software applications including Microsoft applications, databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
Special Position Requirements:
- Skill in budget preparation and management.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgements.
- Member of a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod Church preferred.
- Requires some night and weekend work, with some office work.
