While reporting to the Supervisor, as the Extruder Helper, you will be responsible for collaborating and contributing to the production environment within our manufacturing operations. Safety, quality, productivity, and strong work ethic are important to the Sonoco culture.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Responsible for helping operators ensure smooth, uninterrupted operation of extruder
• Responsible for light maintenance and preventative maintenance (including daily, weekly and monthly cleaning detail)
• Good mechanical aptitude with experience and ability to use standard hand tools.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak in English, understanding equipment manuals and diagrams.

• Visually read various safety postings, bulletin boards, operating instructions, and computer monitors / screens.

We’d love to hear from you if:

• High School diploma or GED is preferred.
• Must be able to adhere to strict PPE requirements, including wearing face shields, earmuffs, gloves and steel-toe boots.
• Forklift and clamp truck driving experience. Certification will be onsite.

• Ability to work a 12-hour shift, standing and walking for extended periods.
• Climbing, lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs.

Shift: 6:45 am to 7:00 pm or 6:45 pm to 7:00 am

Pay Rate: $17.00/hr. + .50 shift differential
