Brief Job Description
Teach undergraduate courses in creative and technical design and product development and/or textile surface design. Advise and mentor undergraduate students. Engage in scholarly research through publications and presentations. Provide service to the department, school, university, community, and profession.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or a terminal degree at time of appointment in apparel and textiles or related field. Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in creative and technical apparel design and product development. Demonstrated proficiency in digital design technologies such as Adobe Suite (specifically Illustrator), Optitex, Browzwear, CLO3D, etc. Demonstrated understanding of design thinking and circular design. Strong oral and written communication skills. Evidence of scholarly potential (publications, working papers, scholarly presentation, creative output).
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching experience at the university level. Prior practice or industry experience in the related fields. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and off-the-shelf software in textile surface design technologies
