CP Kids is a sunny and spacious early learning center for children ages 3 months to 5 years. The mission of CP Kids is to create a learning environment in which young children learn through play, actively developing their language, cognitive, social/emotional and motor skills. We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Assistant Toddler Teacher. We are looking for a professional that enjoys playing, facilitating and exploring with children in a mixed age setting. CP Kids has an active and innovative curriculum that utilizes all the exciting space at Chelsea Piers. Incorporating aspects of the community and learning through exploration are cornerstones of our curriculum. Candidates should be able to engage the children and work collaboratively with their teaching team. Candidates should feel comfortable being out and about in the city, and exploring the community. We strive to create an exciting and fun learning environment. Must be able to communicate with parents both verbally and via email and other online methods. Candidates must possess strong language and grammatical skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelors degree.
• Prior experience teaching children 16-26 months preferred.
• Must have excellent references.
• Potential candidates must be passionate about working with toddler/preschool age children.
• Must possess strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
• Must be creative, nurturing, and willing to work as part of a team.
• Must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and build relationships with families.
• Candidates must have a strong understanding of the developmental needs of young children.
• Must be able to run, play and be active with the students.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds, be able to lift children to changing table and carry when necessary.
• Interact with parents and students in a professional manner.
• Work as part of a teaching team, and help to plan and implement curriculum.
• Understand and work with parents to help them grow and be able to answer questions i.e. potty training, sleep etc.
• Be responsible for the safety of students both inside the school and out in the neighborhood.
• Help children gain independence and self-help skills.
• Punctuality and dependability are a must.
• Play and engage with the children, model appropriate language and social interaction.

Paid Time Off Chelsea Piers supports a healthy work/life balance. Tuition Assistance Chelsea Piers supports employees continuing education. After one (1) year of full-time service, you will be eligible to receive tuition assistance paid by Chelsea Piers in the amount of $750 annually for your first five (5) years of full-time employment and $1,500 annually after five (5) years of full-time employment. The education, instruction, or training must be job-related and/or or have the potential to strengthen your skills/knowledge and enhance your performance.

Employee Referral Program We encourage our employees to refer their qualified family and friends to work at Chelsea Piers. For any referral who is hired and stays at Chelsea Piers a minimum of sixty (60) days, you will receive a referral bonus of $500 for full-time hires (minimum 35 hours per week) and $250 for part-time/non-seasonal hires (minimum twenty (20) hours per week).
