What you will do

The Associate Production Team Leader will be an engaging leader for team growth and business results while maintaining a people, quality and safety-first mindset. Responsible for team performance in the areas of: quality, delivery and performance to budget, team building, employee engagement, new product transfer, capacity and production planning.


Additional responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for multiple assembly lines and manufacturing execution with the guidance from the Sr. Production Team Lead

  • Indirectly leads all value-stream improvement and execution, partnering with engineering, quality, materials, scheduling and supply planning

  • Lead team members from Operations for manufacturing execution, owning deliverables as it pertains to staffing ramp-up, scheduling, supply plan attainment and build plans

  • Accountable to all Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People metrics for business unit, including month over month improvement

  • Use data and other inputs, to identify, prioritize, and deliver on business and customer needs

  • Forecast and predict recruitment needs of temporary and permanent talent to the team for conversion

  • Drive employee engagement by being responsible and accountable for actions promoting an environment that fosters personal growth and development

  • Hold team and associated personnel accountable for quality requirements from medical device regulatory standpoint

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (Advanced Operations, Engineering, Quality) to achieve goals of timely manufacturing transfer

  • Analyze and identify levers to impact metrics/action plans to improve metrics and project impacts

  • Anticipate and predict line down issues and partner with support staff to avoid delays to production

  • Identify, prioritize and lead cost reduction initiatives to deliver on financial projections

  • Be responsible for managing cost performance for the unit/team supported

  • Attend daily meetings and communicate business results /metrics clearly at all levels of the operations business

  • Evaluate employee performance through various means, such as talent reviews and common annual reviews, and enforcing company policies through appropriate disciplinary measures, with guidance

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the support of business and process improvements including but not limited to 6S, lean manufacturing initiatives, etc..

  • Will participate in regulatory agency (FDA, ISO, EUMDR, etc.) audits

What you need

  • Bachelor’s degree required or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in addition to degree/experience in lieu of degree required

  • Intermediate PC skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, Power BI, ERP Systems -preferred

Physical & mental requirements:

  • May involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing, as appropriate.

  • May be required to reach, push, or pull in order to accomplish job accountabilities.

  • Requires use of safety glasses in designated areas.

  • Closed-toe/closed-heel shoes must be worn on the production floor; safety shoes are recommended.
