As an Assistant General Manager, you are key to the success of your restaurant. You handle a wide range of responsibilities and ensure that customers and team members always have a great experience.

As an Assistant General Manager, you will be ready to help with a variety of duties that include:

  • Assists in organizing and overseeing the business and schedules
  • Ensures cash management is accurate and processed regularly, reports are delivered as per company policies
  • Ensure restaurant standards are consistently improved in terms of housekeeping, merchandising, presentation, and service
  • Lead communication meetings with manager and team to ensure all plans are carried out
  • Address customer needs and resolves issues, ensuring positive and long-term customer relationships
  • Ensures inventory data is correct by performing spot inventory counts and checks
  • Ensures that the restaurant always looks clean, inviting, and adheres to brand standards
  • Support the Store Manager to achieve Gross Profit Margin, Net Margin and Sales Targets
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • What Applegreen requires from our Assistant General Managers:
  • Must have 2+ years’ experience in QSR (quick service restaurant) or similar restaurant management operations
  • Food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills with proven ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude
  • Flexible and open work schedule
  • The ability and willingness to bend, twist, and stand to perform regular job functions
  • Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 40 lbs
  • Basic food safety understanding and practice
  • Proven ability to direct, motivate, and develop others in a fast-paced, friendly, environment

Our Shift Supervisors are responsible for attending to customer needs and business needs such as completing sales transactions and performing support functions, which may include preparing food, cleaning displays &/or stock areas and assisting with stock activities (plus other assignments as needed).

Shift Supervisors are responsible for:

  • Greeting customers and taking food orders; providing information about our menus; finding opportunities to sell more products
  • Operating the cash register, receiving payments, accurately counting, and providing change to customers as required, and following all Applegreen customer service and cash handling policies and procedures
  • Cleaning and stocking work areas
  • Assist in locating, reconciling, and verifying the accuracy of transactions and operating equipment with peripheral electronic data processing. Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cart
  • Assisting with a variety of kitchen-related functions as needed
  • Receiving inventory, moving, and lifting food and beverage products and supplies; maintaining a solid knowledge of product and services available in the business unit
  • Ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperature of products
  • Cleaning and sanitizing workstations and equipment

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrating an ability and willingness to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner
  • The ability and willingness to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
  • The ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 40 lbs.
  • The ability and willingness to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers
  • Prior cash handling and customer service experience is preferred
