Auto Mechanic Job at Glidewell Dental
Essential Functions:
- Performs routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
- Installs and repairs accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
- Maintains records of maintenance and vehicle services.
- Cleans and washes company vehicles.
- Examines vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
- Tests drive vehicles and test components and systems using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.
- Adheres to checklists to ensure all important parts are examined including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
- Plans work procedures using charts, technical manuals, and experience.
- Tests and adjusts repaired systems to meet manufacturer’s performance specifications.
- Repairs and services air conditioning, heating, engine-cooling and electrical systems.
- Perform other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum four (4) years of auto mechanic experience specializing in foreign and American cars and trucks required.
- Previous experience with electrical and diesel preferred.
Special Requirements/Certification:
- Automotive Mechanic trade school certificate preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
- Valid Class B Driver’s license with passenger endorsement preferred.
- Ability to comply with DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing requirements.
