At Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP), our teams are focused on developing and making plastic bottles and jars that create a unique experience and are better for the environment. Our bottles and jars are primarily made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which has rapidly become the world’s preferred packaging material. PET is lightweight, shatterproof, recloseable, resealable, reusable and infinitely recyclable*.

With approximately 6,000 people across about 50 manufacturing operations in 11 countries and an annual revenue of US$2.9 Billion, ARP provides rigid packaging solutions to the beverage, pharmaceutical, food, and home and personal care segments.

About the Role
The primary function of the backline operator is to safely keep the backlines running well and producing good bottles and to test the systems to verify they are working properly (e.g., leak detector, vision system).

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Must respect Amcor Rigid Packaging’s primary focus, that is to ensure the Safety of all employees.
  • Perform quality checks on bottles (visual and via measurements) per policy, documenting any and all issues in the quality system.
  • Challenge the leak detector and vision system to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Fix any bottle jams.
  • Clean area daily.
  • Must be committed to providing our customers a product that is safe and meets specifications, regulations and statutory requirements.

About You

  • Prefer 1-2 years' experience in manufacturing. If not, must possess mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong verbal, listening, and written communications skills.
  • Must be motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Must possess a high attention to detail.
  • Must have the necessary skills to perform reading, writing, and mathematics as required.
  • Must be able to multitask efficiently and effectively work with co-workers.
