JOB SUMMARY- Bakery Managers are directly responsible for daily operations of Bakery department’s profitability, presentation, sanitation, and training future bakery managers

- Order and maintain all product sold through the cake department.
- Maintain budget, inventory control, orders, processing, packaging, labeling, acceptable retail stock level, sanitation, and plan-o-grams set by Brookshire Brothers.
- Schedule and supervise employees assigned to the bakery department to insure total customer satisfaction.
- Follow all training programs and makes sure all employees in bakery department are sufficiently trained.
- Be willing and able to work additional shifts other than what is posted on weekly schedule.
- Be willing and able to perform other duties as assigned such as general cleaning, custodial duties, and other activities as directed by management.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE - Must have one year of bakery or deli experience unless approved by the District Director. Must have good verbal and written skills. Bilingual is a plus. Must be able to calculate gross profits, inventories, and salary projections. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT- To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
- You must be able to crouch, grasp, lift, pull, push, reach, stand, kneel and walk.
- You must be able to lift 50 pounds of bakery preparation products and equipment.
- Exertion of heavy forces, repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and fingers, and continuous exposure to vibrations are frequent.
- You must be able to see, read, and understand directions and measurements.
- Exposure to pollutants or allergens and exposure to hazardous working conditions including moving machinery is involved.
- Work is continuous, and it cannot be easily or economically interrupted for breaks except at regularly scheduled intervals or the completion of an assignment.
- Working conditions of 100 degrees and cold conditions of below freezing for periods of more than 15 minutes are frequent.
