We are looking for an enthusiastic barista and foodie to provide an excellent customer service and a craft coffee experience. A great barista will be able execute our drinks to perfection every-time and aid to the creation of new seasonal coffee drinks. We are looking for someone with knowledge in the manual espresso process, dialing in, milk steaming and latte art. An experienced barista will be able to use their skills in learning to cross train in the other areas of our business, ie; coffee, plants & food service

We are searching for employees who are experienced in high volume cafes and used to cross training into different areas.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter
• Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
• Upselling on food, milk alternatives and plants
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
• Prepare beverages following recipes
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
• Keep the bar area clean
• Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve & prepare snacks and drinks
• Cross train to bar to make daytime cocktails
• Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations
• Stepping outside the bar to sell retail plants

Requirements

• Resume and proven working experience as a barista
• Excellent knowledge in espresso, dialing in, milk steaming and latte art
• Experience in Square POS systems is a plus
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
• Coffee & food experience a must
• Knowledge in indoor house plants a plus
• Able to work a 6+ hour shift

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.25 - $22.00 per hour
