The Merchants Exchange team brings more than 50 years combined experience hosting and producing special events in San Francisco. From planning and logistics, to production, management, and in-house gourmet catering, Merchants Exchange Productions is the only fully-verticalized event production service tied exclusively to three of The City’s finest venues – Julia Morgan Ballroom, Merchants Exchange Club and Credo Restaurant. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a warm and welcoming approach to all guests that creates memorable experiences
• Knowledgeable about spirits, cocktails, beer and wine (preparation, techniques, taste profile, origins, varietals, appellations, regions, aromas, etc…)
• Maintain an organized work space to multitask efficiently in a high volume, fast paced environment
• Exceed guests’ expectations at every opportunity
• “Read” event to anticipate guests’ needs
• Respond promptly and courteously to any and all guests’ requests, questions and concerns
• Be ready and willing to assist fellow team members regardless of duty or difficulty
• Be a contributing team member to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the events

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a banquet/events bartender in a comparable setting
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail
• Excellent English verbal and written skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Able to multitask throughout service
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be a proven self-starter capable of finding solutions with minimal supervision
• Highly reliable, adaptable and punctual
• Available to work a flexible schedule that will include nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by the events schedule
• A current California Food Handlers Certificate
• Have regular access to e-mail and the internet
• Have the stamina to work up to 10 hours – standing and walking the duration of the event
• Ability bend, stoop lift 25+ lbs, reach overhead and perform repetitive motion
• May involve walking between departments and climbing stairs between floors
