Description

Wild Laurel is a privately-owned golf course nestled in the Smoky Mountains providing a full bar and food menu for golfers and guests. The Bartender / Food Prep will be responsible for ensuring food orders are completed correctly, delivered to the patrons in a timely manner and to assist the bartenders in cleaning glassware and restocking. They will be expected to uphold our highest standards of hospitality by being attentive, professional and efficient while in the clubhouse at all times.

Responsibilities (shall include but not be limited to)

  • Knowledge of a range of cocktails, beverages and cordials
  • Stocking and upkeep of various inventory points on property
  • Maintains assigned bar or station to fit guests needs (i.e. pool, beverage cart, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of wine service
  • Assist in the operation of preparing food for guests
  • Deliver completed orders to patrons in a timely manner
  • Ensure the kitchen area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary area
  • Assists with restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that Bartenders have clean towels, glassware, etc.
  • Ensuring bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer
  • Keeping the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles
  • Sets-up and breaks-down various service areas as required
  • Routinely cleans and maintains bar equipment and bar & clubhouse areas
  • Carries out specific tasks as assigned by management
  • Must have good organizational and disciplined skills
  • Must be able to remain calm under high pressure situations

Qualifications

  • Need to have, or be willing to obtain, a TABC server’s permit prior to start date
  • Ability to understand and receive instruction in English
  • Works cooperatively with others in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Approachable and warm demeanor that is detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Must have excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Regular and consistent attendance is required

Experience/Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-4 years of experience
  • Experience in the service industry and dealing with the general public
  • Food & Beverage experience a plus
  • Food prep a plus

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Must be able to work long hours and be on feet for a long period of time

Work Environment

  • Fast paced bar, dining room and Kitchen areas
  • 100 acres of Wild Laurel property

Work Schedule

  • Part Time position
  • Flexible days and hours including: evenings, weekends and holidays

Compensation

  • Hourly rate starting at $9.00 per hour, plus tips

Must comply with all company policies and procedures
