POSITION INFORMATION
We are currently seeking compassionate individuals with healthcare or special education backgrounds to be trained as entry level Autism Support Behavior Technicians to ultimately achieve the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential.
All related costs (RBT Training, Competency Assessment, and Exam Fee) will be 100% covered by ABA Business Growth and our Client Organization.
Overview: As a Behavior Technician, you will work with children with autism or other developmental challenges by providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and implementing their treatment plan under the direction and guidance of a BCBA. You will be fully trained and supported by an experienced team of clinical supervisors, managers, and mentors who are invested in your personal and professional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Working under close supervision of highly experienced and empathetic BCBA, provide ABA Therapy for children and school-aged clients in their homes to assist them with improving behaviors and acquiring new skills.
- Follow specific protocol for each client and implement individualized ABA programs as set by the treatment plan and directed by BCBA.
- Document client sessions by recording data, writing quality session notes and inputting timesheets.
- Develop strong rapport with the client and family and work with parents to ensure the client is meeting their goals.
- Communicate with supervisors on case updates, changes in schedule, and availability.
- Participate in supervision sessions and team meetings.
- Complete training and competency assessment necessary to obtain RBT certification.
- Maintain appropriate professional conduct and boundaries at all times, client confidentiality, and ensure timely communication with families.
Logistics and Details:
- LOCATION: SILVER SPRING AND HYATTSVILLE

- SCHEDULE (35 HOURS):
Silver Spring: 8 am to 12 pm (Monday to Friday)
Hyattsville: 2:30 to 7:30 pm (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday)
(GUARANTEED HOURS / Admin fee paid at reduced rates for client cancellations)
- COMPENSATION: $18/hr to $26
- Opportunity for increases based on periodic performance evaluations
- Extensive hands-on on-the-job and virtual/classroom training to ensure that you are fully prepared to deliver highest quality care.
- Weekly supervision (in-person and/or virtual) of 10% or more, depending on need and complexity of each case.
- COVID-19 considerations (for this position): All employees are required to be vaccinated / Required to wear a mask, social distancing in place, restricted visitation, and building daily cleaning and sanitization
QUALIFICATIONS
What you will bring (Required):
- Must be 18 years old
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have experience working with children
What will make you stand out (Preferred):
- Experience working with children with autism, challenging behaviors, emotional support needs, or developmental disabilities and delays.
- Experience as a paraprofessional, behavior support, emotional support, school aide, classroom aide, TSS, special education classroom support, etc
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong technical skills with basic systems such as email, notes, medical records, etc on both computer and iPad
- Ability to receive and deliver constructive criticism
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to ask questions
