The Bell Attendant position is a part-time position
Duties and Responsibilities:
GREETING GUESTS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Greeting guests at the Hotel entrance
- Opening doors as necessary
- Providing directions
- Answering questions about the Hotel, special events, and surrounding area
LUGGAGE
- Loading and unloading luggage from vehicles
- Transporting luggage to and from guest rooms
- Checking and tagging guest bags and golf clubs for storage
DELIVERIES
- Deliver boxes, messages, packages, copies and faxes to the appropriate area (meetings, banquets, guest rooms, and administrative offices)
- Deliver guest requests as necessary (irons, ironing boards, hairdryers, pillows, towels, etc.)
- Assist guests by taking their ledgers to the appropriate designation
ASSIST FRONT DESK
- Assist Front Desk with package log book
- Show hotel rooms and suites as necessary
- Explain operational procedures for HVAC, television and key system
- Check rooms for occupancy (unexpected stayovers, etc.)
- Assist supervisors as necessary
- Take-down morning beverage display
SAFETY AND SECURITY
- Maintain a full understanding of fire evacuation and emergency procedures
- Monitor unattended luggage or packages
- Stay alert for suspicious people roaming the halls or lobby
CLEANING
- Organize and clean the bell station and closet
- Maintain cleanliness in the lobby
- Sweeping the front steps during shift
- Cleaning bellcarts and stanchions (metal rope dividers)
OTHER
- Always carry hand radio
- Never leave without informing Supervisor
- Eating is prohibited at the bell station
Physical Demands:
- Lifting Up to 30-50 Lbs. Frequently
- Bending and Lifting
- Pushing and Pulling Baggage Cart Frequently
- Standing for Long Periods of Time
Education and Work Experience:
- No experience required
- Customer Service skills are essential
