Astrohaus’ mission is to build beautifully integrated hardware and software tools to support productivity, focus, and presence. Our flagship brand, Freewrite, has become synonymous with distraction-free writing after the viral launch of the original Freewrite Smart Typewriter in 2014 on Kickstarter. The product is currently in its 3rd generation and is accompanied by the Freewrite Traveler, which launched Oct 2018. Freewrite Alpha has been successfully funded via Indiegogo and will launch in July 2023. Freewrite products have won multiple awards, and, in 2021, the Smart Typewriter became part of The Science Museum, London’s permanent Printing & Writing Collection.

Freewrite Brand Marketing Associate Role

Join Freewrite as our Brand Marketing Associate and help bring our various social, email, and web channels to life with product and values-driven storytelling.

With an eye on profitable growth-oriented campaigns, the ideal person is a great storyteller who deeply understands our consumers and the brand and is comfortable wearing many hats in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Key responsibilities and work streams include:

• Editorial planning and management
• Social media posting and community management
• Email campaign planning, development
• Content production and creative management
• Recruiting, managing, and helping activate influencers and ambassadors

This role will work closely with Freewrite’s leadership, specifically the Head of Marketing, CEO, and the public. Strong project management, clear communication abilities, and steady maturity are critical for this position.

Specific Responsibilities:

• 
  Editorial plan management

• Develop rolling 3-month storytelling idea list and place stories into the editorial calendar
• Source, edit, or produce accompanying story assets, including caption
• Once approved, schedule for delivery

• 
  Social media posting and community management

• Schedule approved editorial plan stories for delivery
• Monitor and respond to social media commentary
• Proactively and authentically insert Freewrite into relevant online conversations

• 
  Email campaign planning and development

• Source ideas from the master editorial calendar and develop 2-3 weekly campaign emails
• Write email copy and design email within Klaviyo
• Schedule for delivery and report results

• 
  Support content creation and creative management

• Organizing and trafficking produced and UGC photo and video assets
• Develop blog posting cadence
• Maintain organized and consistent content Dropbox site

• 
  Ambassador program support

• Help recruit new advocates into the program
• Manage existing campaigns and actions within the program
• Activate Ambassador and Influencer content within the editorial plan

The Right Person for This Role:

• Has 3+ years of consumer marketing experience
• Is a clear and precise communicator, especially when writing and editing online content
• Is detail oriented, organized, and entrepreneurial
• Likes meeting new people and engaging in digital communities
• Is social media savvy (especially TikTok or Instagram)
• Enjoys building personal relationships through branding and storytelling
• Loves creative idea generation and has the enthusiasm and drive to take them from theory to execution
• Is inspired to have a meaningful impact on our consumers, our business trajectory, and Freewrite’s storytelling aesthetic

Location and hours: This is a full-time, permanent position of 40 hours per week. Our office is in downtown Royal Oak, MI. There is a preference for living in metro Detroit within commutable distances. Open to US residents only.
