Job Description
The Aerospace Defense Custom Systems (ADCS) team has been growing for more than 10 years at a significant rate. The continuation of this growth will depend on the ability of business development personnel to create new business with current customer communities and to find new customers for ADCS systems and products.
In support of this growth the, ADCS team is looking for a sales-oriented individual, with an RF engineering background, to work as part of the business development team. This individual will be responsible for supporting the current Business Development team in the generation of quotes and proposals for custom systems, spares, and switch matrices.
In this role you will have a direct and tangible effect on the business results for the ADCS team, working with a high-class engineering team to translate their concepts into value for our customers and growth for the business. You will benefit from participating in the full business operation, including engineering, customer relationships, contracts and finance. You will also build relationships within the team, with our customers and with the sales team.
Tasks:
- Identify target customers for ADCS systems by working with field engineers and application engineers to understand potential needs, customer constraints, and business positions
- Work with customers to identify solution needs and define detailed requirements; business, project, and technical
- Liaise with the engineering team to match technical capabilities to customer needs
- Work with engineering to demonstrate to customers that ADCS can meet all their requirements and influence any RFPs and statements of work as needed to place ADCS in a position to secure the business
- Understand the competitive environment and structure ADCS offering – both technically and commercially - to counter any competitive threat
- Develop close relationship with field engineer, making sure that the win strategy leverages the strengths of both field and ‘factory’
- Ensure that the pricing accurately reflects the engineering estimates and material costs
- Schedule and run the necessary reviews with ADCS engineering and management teams to ensure that all ADCS personnel are comfortable with the solution
- Write proposal with winning messages and pricing - to result in a win against the competition
- Once the proposal is submitted, work with the contracts team to negotiate terms and conditions of the deal
- Negotiate pricing with the customer, assess competitive price and balance this against Keysight needs - to result in a winning priced proposal
- Follow orders as they are passed to Delivery team to ensure smooth transitions and complete understanding of customer needs and expectations
- Maintain relationship with customer, follow projects and monitor customer satisfaction on an ongoing basis
- Together with the FE – establish methods for using successful engagements to build additional business within each customer community
- Step and repeat with existing and new customers
Job Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master's Degree or University Degree or equivalent, preferably in an engineering disciple
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical business development or sales-related roles
- Requires in-depth knowledge of RF industry and/or test engineering experience
- Electronic warfare (EW) or Satellite industry experience is a strong plus
- Must have experience with pricing and proposal development
- Experience with government contracts/DOD is preferred
- Proven ability to create and present materials to customers
- Ability to work independently and achieve deliverables
- Communication skills: Demonstrated ability to interface, present and negotiate with customers
- Results Driven: Proven Biz Dev skills and ability to aggressively pursue opportunities and navigate external and internal obstacles
- Willing to Travel: possible 25% travel required

The ideal location for this position is in Loveland, CO but willing to consider remote locations anywhere in the US, with occasional travel to Keysight locations.
