Key job responsibilities The role has the primary responsibility of ensuring material availability to support production and engineering schedules. Other responsibilities for the Buyer include managing inventory levels, supporting material/product level revisions, interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics ensuring compliance and supporting other business functions as required. • Monitor status of open orders to ensure on-time delivery of all items ordered, including timely resolution, communication. • Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule and/or inventory changes. • Recommend and establish optimal inventory levels based on approved exposure inventory along with production and engineering schedules based on material lead times. • Coordinate material flows throughout production/bill of material (BOM) changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development. • Provide back-up support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, material handling and other duties as assigned. • Ensure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and procedures. • Understand and comply with all federal acquisition regulation (FAR), defense federal acquisition regulation supplement (DFAR), and international traffic in arms (ITAR) flow down requirements. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $31,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $69,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
