General Purpose
The main purpose of the Café Counter Person is to provide excellent customer service with speed and accuracy to Adams’ patrons.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Description
- Ensure that customers receive the best customer service by providing friendly, polite, and knowledgeable service
- Greet customers and thank them for shopping at Adams
- Opening or closing procedures (put out coffee, bagels, pastries, etc. in AM)
- Ensure that customers receive the best customer service by providing a friendly, polite and knowledgeable service.
- Greet and wait on customers promptly and courteously
- Routinely clear and clean the tables
- Sweep, mop, take out garbage, etc. in PM
- Help clean dishes and equipment
- Follow all safety and health procedures
- Accurate use of cash register & POS system
- Get along with co-workers
- Ensure the customer self service areas are clean and organized
- Maintain the condiments and centerpieces on the customer’s tables
Physical Requirements
Employees must be physically able to:
- Clean equipment daily
- Use chemicals for cleaning
- Sweeping, mopping and general cleaning
- Work weekends
- Proper attire and well groomed
Mental/Reasoning Requirements
- Ensure quality service
- Accomplish tasks in reasonable amount of time
- Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and managers
