Title - Legal Assistant (60481)
Location : Nashville, Tennessee 37243
Duration : 10+ Month’s contract with the possibility of extension
Shift hours : 8 am to 4.30pm
First-day logistics target 4/24/23 & 5/01/23
Position Summary (General Overview of Position):
Legal Assistant Classification -- **Bachelor or Associate Degree Required***
Candidate must be local to middle TN and able to commute to Nashville, TN for Day One onboarding and a minimum of 1-3 days per month. {ONLY MID-TN APPLICANTS WILL BE CONSIDERED}.
The contractor is expected to work no more than the standard 7.5 hours per day/max 37.5 hours per week.
Position Description/Daily Activities
- The legal assistant will help determine individual and family eligibility for TennCare.
- The legal assistant will communicate critical information to clients.
- The legal assistant contributes to case preparation through administration and research.
- The legal assistant will conduct client interviews, collect facts and information, and compile case data to provide recommendations to an attorney.
- Duties will include legal research, analysis of legal papers, and drafting legal documents.
- The legal assistant assists in coordinating and communicating schedules.
Training is extensive, up to 6 weeks prescheduled, virtual / in-office (by supervisor request), and contractors must attend training every day to build proficiency.
Ideal applicants should meet the below requirements:
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor or Associate Degree Required
- Paralegal studies / Legal experience a plus!
- Customer service or call center experience
- Computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including, building / updating/maintaining spreadsheets / documents, and utilizing Outlook for communications
- Multitasker
- Able to work efficiently / effectively in multiple databases to extract information
- Timely management of casework, including proper documentation and case resolution
- Able to professionally pivot work demands/tasks to support the business unit
- Researcher
- Able to research/review case information and document findings accurately
- Detail oriented
- Strong Communicator
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient writer able to send clear, concise emails, including timely responses
