Bushi Ban Clear Lake Martial Arts Dojo, with After School Program and Summer Camp operating 8 schools around Houston for 30+ years. Most campers are regular students who know our systems and are therefore easy to manage.

We are looking for Camp Counselors to supervise campers aged 5-12 years and make sure they learn and have fun with safety as a primary focus. You’ll be responsible to implement our systems and plans for the day.

The job duties of a Camp Counselor include supervising summer camp games, implementing daily projects, and managing field trips. Being reliable and able to build good relationships with children is essential.

The job is best suited for individuals who have some experience working with children/daycare/education, are happy, energetic, creative, patient, reliable, team-oriented. If you feel this describes you, we’d like to meet you.

University Students majoring in Education, Psychology, and allowed to work in the US are encouraged to apply.

Part-time position: M-F 35 hours during summer 20-35hrs per week after summer.

Minimum Requirements:

Age 21 (Requirement for vehicle insurance)

High school graduation or GED

Clean Background (FBI background check will be done for all applicants)

Good driving record

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Impliment activities for groups of children
• Lead and manage recreational and educational activities
• Escort and oversee children
• Educate campers through games and explorations
• Resolve occasional disputes between children and address behavioral issues
• Make sure all safety rules are followed
• Perform first aid or take care of injuries as needed

Skills

• Experience as Camp Counselor or similar role working with children
• Patient and reliable
• Organizational and communication skills
• A love for children
• Energetic and positive personality
• First aid- and CPR-certified preferred. Not mandatory
• High school diploma.
