Position Summary:
The Campus Cache is hiring a student worker to begin Summer 2023 term. The MSC store (Campus Cache), offers students, faculty, and staff quick access to needed supplies, study guides, and clothing. The Campus Cache also serves as cashiering for the entire campus, accepting payment for tuition, fees, testing, and more.Duties:

Mat-Su College is a community campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage. The campus is located on 951 acres in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, the fastest growing region of Alaska. We serve as a major higher education hub for the communities of Wasilla and Palmer. Our student-friendly campus offers small class sizes and state-of-the-art facilities, including paramedic classrooms with a fully equipped ambulance bay, updated science labs, and a 520-seat performing arts theater. The campus has an annual operating budget of over $10,000,000 and serves approximately 1,300 students each semester.

Ability to operate and reconcile cash register. . - Ability to be trained for competency with Banner and Point of Sale System software. - Ability to operate basic equipment. - Ability to file accurately.
Preferred knowledge, skills, & abilities:
Ability to lift up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
Experience utilizing Banner.
Experience with merchandising in a retail environment.
Experience with handling money.
Experience with multiple computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Student employee positions require maintaining a minimum enrollment of 6 credits or more within the University of Alaska System and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
This is a student employee position, with a starting pay of $11.80 hourly. Hours are limited to 20 per week maximum during instructional periods of the academic year, but during summer months hours can be set for up to 40 hours weekly, depending on the department needs and budget.

This is a pooled position, open until filled.
Students must maintain enrollment and regular attendance for a minimum of 6 undergraduate or graduate hours to be exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare) tax. A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employee criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load). While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university.
Student workers may be asked to work days and evenings to include weekends depending on the needs of the department. Schedule will be discussed at the time of interview.
