Position Summary:

The Capacity Program Supervisor is responsible for clinical and administrative management functions related to patient discharge and throughput functions throughout the Medical Center. Maintains responsibility for aligning communication and all phases of patient capacity management to facilitate placement of admissions, inpatient to inpatient transfers, transfers from outside facilities, and discharges, working in support of the House Supervisors and ancillary department directors/managers. The supervisor will support the delivery of quality care, accelerate patient throughput, and increase overall operational efficiency by identifying and resolving throughput barriers to maximize staff workload management and improve financial performance. Work with the Nursing Supervisor to ensure clear communication in real time to ensure adequate staffing for patient care areas and notifies Nursing Supervisor and/or Manager as needed of situation and intervention. Assist in the management and resolution of unforeseen patient care and satisfaction events that arise and functions as an advisor to the healthcare team on hospital capacity management. Promotes a climate of effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration Specific duties include directing patient care activities, leading and/or attending patient throughput and daily discharge rounds, monitoring & facilitating patient discharge, providing clinical support to various acute care units, and participating on performance improvement projects. Serves as a role model and clinical resource to colleagues, staff, patients and others. Maintains clear communication with the House Supervisor in real time of hospital flow and provides backup coverage as House Supervisor as requested.

Salary Range:
Hourly Rate Minimum $49.38 Midpoint $75.29 Maximum $101.20
Required Qualifications:
Current BLS, ACLS & PALS certifications
Knowledge of JCAHO and other regulatory requirements present in an acute care setting
Strong customer service orientation as well as written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated supervisory experience working in an acute care setting
Complete understanding of acuity levels for all patient populations
All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Current California RN license
Minimum of 4 years recent inpatient clinical nursing experience in adult acute care, (within the last two years)
Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
A minimum of one year of experience as a House Supervisor
Licenses and Certifications:
Registered Nurse(Required)
