Position Description

Division of Child and Family Services is recruiting for a Case Management Specialist 4 in the Carson office or could be located in another Child Welfare office in the Rural Region. This position is responsible for the quality assurance, quality improvement and training of staff region wide. Monitor the different program areas throughout the Rural Region for quality and compliance to ensure programs are operating effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with federal/state laws, agency policies and procedures. Develop and implement training programs; develop appropriate training curricula, materials and methods; establish training schedules, conduct training, and update curricula on an ongoing basis; provide on-site technical assistance, coaching, mentoring and training to staff, supervisors, managers and community Stakeholders. Provide comprehensive reports from specific management requests concerning substantive changes in practice and procedures; participate in the development and implementation of new procedures and processes in child welfare throughout the Rural Region; serve as a consultant to caseworkers, supervisors, district, and regional managers. Incumbents act as a lead-worker on a regular and reoccurring basis over a staff of lower-level Casework Management Specialist 3, 2 and 1 positions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, special education, human growth and development, criminal justice, psychology, counseling, social work, sociology or closely related social/human services related field and three years of professional experience providing case management services specific to children in a health and/or human services setting; OR one year of experience as a Casework Management Specialist 3 in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the Bachelor's degree level as described above.

Informational Notes

  • Licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker or Clinical Social Worker may be substituted for one year of required work experience. Individuals who have current licensure may be required to maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment.
