As the Cash Application Specialist, you perform all aspects of cash applications, credit card transactions, and other customer payment processing functions.
Responsibilities

• Research and post all bank batches, wire transfers, and checks
• Deposit/Post any cash or live checks received at the Sterling location
• Process credit card transactions, including pre-charging, charging, posting, and disputes
• Answer the credit card processing phone line to assist in charging client credit card
• Collaborate with Credit and Collections teams regarding deposits and customer remittance information
• Enter rebates and coupons
• Process write-offs and transfers (month-end, small balance, etc.)
• Contact customers via telephone and email regarding payment application or credit card issues
• Request an update to the customer master file, when updated information is received
• Research returned mail and bank correspondence
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Great communicator and listener in-person, over phone, email, and videoconference
• Strong work ethic, with a good humored with a positive “can do” attitude
• Values curiosity, creativity, inclusive teams, and achieving results
• Problem solver that is comfortable making judgment calls how to spend time
• Loves learning by providing, receiving and responding positively to constructive feedback
• Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
• Motivated by deadlines
• Able to work overtime when required

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Accounting preferred
• At least 1+ years of previous experience in credit/collections preferred
