SupplyHouse.com, a fast-growing and successful e-commerce company, is looking for a new Category Manager to join our Merchandising Team! This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing designated category strategies.

This is a remote-based role within select states in the United States. At this time, we are only able to employ those located in the following states: Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

This position will require travel to our NY office headquarters up to four times per year for internal meetings and team-building activities. The cost of travel for employees out of the area will be covered by the company. Additionally, our offices are always available for staff to use as much as desired.

A company laptop and other necessary equipment will be provided along with a $250 stipend for your work from home space.

Role Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Location: Remote (Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington)

Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 (Annually)

Schedule: Standard business hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. ET. However, we provide flexibility based on local time zones and our Flex-Time Policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop category strategies that include understanding industry trends, product assortments, and product positioning in order to create incremental revenue and customers
  • Determine new products and brands to launch that align with the category strategy
  • Understand designated product types as well as know the functions and uses for each product to better support our customers
  • Review current products in the category and perform product life management for new and existing products
  • Partner with key vendors on product knowledge and assortment reviews
  • Coordinate and collaborate with various cross-functional departments to manage the overall category strategy and ensure all tactics are correctly executed in a timely manner
  • Create product roadmaps, ROI analysis, and a competitive assessment for in-depth market studies and research
  • Determine product promotions and educational strategies around new and existing products
  • Grow sales for the categories supported through first to market ideas and the management of product positions
  • Work with our customer base to gather insights and determine how to implement those insights
  • Collaborate and communicate category strategy to key stakeholders to ensure correct product execution

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred concentrations in Business Management, Merchandising, Engineering, or Marketing)
  • 7-10 years of experience in Merchandising and product development (technical ability in the industry is preferred)
  • Hard Parts knowledge in industry related fields (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Heating preferred)
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel and retail systems
  • Experience in leading remote team members
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills
  • Critical and creative thinking skills working in an everchanging environment
  • Statistical analysis and data manipulation skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while remaining flexible in a high growth environment
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team setting
